Member Spotlight

Each month we will be doing a feature to showcase those in our community who have been busting their tails. These are members who show up each day with a smile on their face, put the work in, and never complain. They truly embrace the mantra “Head down, mouth shut, work”.

The April Spotlight will shine on Katie F!

She is an incredibly hard worker who shows up early, and is one of the last to leave. She has quietly gone from 1-2 steps handstand walking, to being able to go as far as 15′. Her gymnastics are getting better with each day she shows up. Your hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed! Keep up the good work.

Here are a few questions we asked Katie…

How did you get into CrossFit?
“My friends Sean Cully and Peter Rae that I worked with got me into crossfit a few years ago. I started weight lifting in college and was looking for something similar when I graduated and they introduced me to it.”

What is a fun non fitness related fact about you that not many people know?
“A fun fact about me is that I am an artist. I mostly focus in graphic design and photography. I do a lot of website and logo design but can also draw pretty well…I’d rather stick to my computer though haha.”

What is your favorite bench mark workout?
“My favorite benchmark workout is Fran!
I love thrusters”

What are your upcoming CrossFit goals?
“My upcoming goals are:
30ft handstand walk
165 clean and jerk
5 chest to bar butterfly pullups
Thank you again, it means a lot that I was picked for this month. I love it at freedom and seeing you guys work as hard as you do inspires me to do the same!”
